What Should I do, go for the postgraduation or stay in India ?
''my_qualifications'': Graduation and Post graduation in History, with more than 3 years of experience in teaching .
I am 29M. I feel completely stuck and honestly overwhelmed right now.
I’ve always dreamed of studying abroad, and now I finally have the opportunity—I’ve received offers from universities like SOAS and Glasgow for a Master’s in International Relations. On paper, this is everything I’ve worked for.
I have a business which is doing good and I am not funding my studies through loan.
But the reality is hitting me hard.
The total cost is huge. Even though the tuition difference between SOAS and Glasgow isn’t massive, living in London is significantly more expensive. This isn’t just “an investment” for me—it’s still a risk.
What’s scaring me the most is the lack of job security after graduation. And the thought of spending so much without a clear path afterward is honestly terrifying.
At the same time, I keep thinking—if I don’t take this chance, will I regret it forever?
I’m torn between ambition and practicality, between chasing a dream and protecting myself from financial strain.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation? How did you decide? Was it worth the risk? And how is the job market for the IR graduates ?
I’d really appreciate honest advice.
