How to pack for Camp

Might be a dumb question but just wondering how others packed for camp. Specifically if you were able to fit all items from the pack list into your two duffles, or if you also packed stuff in your ruck for checked baggage. Really just wondering how people split up the combo of packing your checked baggage. Also curious what people packed in their carry on besides basics. Not exactly sure what reception will look like and our program didn’t give us a lot of info on transportation details.

Bring cold weather gear to camp?

Currently curating all the items I’m going to be bringing to camp and wondering if silks and/or waffles are worth it to bring in anyone’s experience. I’m imagining not due to the heat but wondering if anyone ever saw them useful in the morning or in any ltber situation.

Credit for Camp?

My university has a for credit class you can “take” in the Summer for a grade and I’m wondering if anyone here knows how it works. Not exactly sure how it will be graded since it’s not P/F. Also the description for the class is outdated, talking about LDAC (old name for camp), and I’m just wondering if anyone has any info on it before I go to talk to my PMS and ask him about it. It’s not required to register for but I’m kind of wanting to just to pad my GPA a little bit (engineering student) and I can also get the credits paid for free.

Going to camp this summer and a couple people have told me it is nice to have sewn ons for at least one set. Their reasoning was laundry purposes of not losing or getting anything stolen. Would anyone agree this is a valid reason? I have no idea how laundry works there. I also have a follow on internship and I’m thinking it could look a little more professional to have the sewn ons, but I’m not too worried about that part. Really I’m just wondering if the sewn ons make your life any easier at camp, and if not I don’t really care.

Kind of just ranting but genuinely curious how other engineers have navigated ROTC. I’m on track to graduate mechanical engineering in 4 years from when I started and it has been tough to say the least. As far as OML goes idk I think I’m alright since my AFT is a 460 GPA is 3.4, I do pretty well tactically / leadership and I’m SMP but I never really done any of the extra ROTC stuff. Landed an Army internship this Summer after camp and I have really good work experience in engineering but feel like I may get shafted come branching, but I’m going Reserve so it’s less competitive. I tend to compare and overthink a lot but if you’re an engineer you will understand the suffering lol. I feel like I’ll do well enough at camp but I’m just curious to see what others say bc there aren’t any other engineers in my program. It’s also tough on the engineering side because wanting to get more out of my education and commit more to projects or academia isn’t really in the cards with the workload sometimes.
