Pleading the 5th when pulled over for minor offenses?

I had a bad experience when I was pulled over recently (I was doing 35 in a 25 and later did a rolling stop). It was 7am, and I was very cooperative. However, the 2 officers treated me like I was a huge criminal (approached both sides of vehicle, flashed flashlight in my face, flashed flashlight through my car, spoke down to me, spoke to me as if I was doing 60mph).

I am reading that after I provide license and registration, I have no obligation to answer any other questions and can plead the 5th.

I have never had any issues like this in my life. If I am respectful to the officer and provide license and registration, will it reflect poorly if I plead 5th to any other questions? (i.e. where are you coming from, where are you going, etc.)
