Coming up on my year anniversary… it’s bitter sweet how much time, effort and cash has gone into this 36G.

Note to self: take a full tank shot as frequently as possible for year 2.

Acropora questions

So I’m pretty well versed in LPS and softies. However long story short I finally made the plunge into trying acros for the second time (first time they died pretty much instantly). I won a bid expected 5 acros that I could space out a little better… vendor ended up sending me 9 chunky frags, that’s why they’re so clustered, no they’re not permanently being placed here, yes my glue job is absolute shit. But realistically I was expecting I would get 1 to 3 to survive because of my inexperience… fast forward about a month or so later - they’re all alive, well and encrusting on their plugs and showing vertical growth… which is great! But going to cause an issue for me eventually because as you can tell… I don’t really have space for them all.

Anyways that’s not the point of this post. My question is it’s been a little over a month since I’ve got them and they are beginning to color up, they were all dull brown when I got them, now they’re showing some minor coloration… but due to my newness to acros and the fact that these ARE maricultured pieces they don’t have a trade name, that I’m aware of, to compare to for coloration. At what point am I supposed to look at these frags and go “yea that’s about as much coloration as I should reasonably expect”? Am I there already because of the confirmed growth on the plugs?
