Hello,

I work at a major bank, my ESPP plan has vested and I can take the entirety of the shares out. Since the plan is a non registered account I plan to simply transfer the shares in kind to my wealthsimple non registered account, sell them then transfer proceeds to my TFSA.

But I'm wondering if there is a benefit in documentation and ACB calculation if i just have them sold at the broker that currently holds them (morgan stanley) then transferred as cash to my account.

The broker seems to have all the documentation necessary to have my ACB calculated and generate the proper tax slips, I'm afraid all that would be lost on the transfer to wealthsimple and I'd have to calculate all that on my own come tax time.

Any advice appreciated!
