I just test drove a ‘26 SE and was surprised how fun it was to drive! I know the Sport has the XDS differential though, and I like a more sporty driving car. Is that differential worth sacrificing the options you get on the SE? Like the push button start, lock sensors and such?
Does it really make a big difference in how the car handles?

What is a more reliable and tunable platform, the ‘16-17 R-Line 1.8T or the ‘18-19 R-Line 2.0T? What are some pros and cons of both setups? I don’t want to go crazy, just enough to be at Jetta GLI-level power.

Going to look at a 2008 Jetta SE with the 2.5 I5 and 5spd manual with 190k on the clock. Located in Wisconsin. I’m not familiar with these cars, so what should I look for (common problems, rust, etc)? It’s fairly priced and well equipped so I’m hoping it’s not a complete dumpster fire 😏
