Bad service Home Depot South Bay, Boston, Massachusetts

Last Sunday I placed a composite decking order with Home Depot for my porch rebuild. The order included 29 Veranda 16-foot deck boards PLUS 13 Veranda 12-foot deck boards. At the time I placed the order, the system showed 230 of the 16-foot boards in stock. Delivery arrived Saturday and the order was completely wrong.

Out of the 29 Veranda 16-foot boards I ordered, I only received 19. Four of the boards delivered were Fiberon Good Life boards that weren’t even the same brand, plus they were a different color and different grain pattern. The other 10 boards were simply missing from the order entirely.

I also received extra 12-foot boards I didn’t order.
Today I spent over an hour on text support trying to resolve the problem. The customer service rep was polite and genuinely trying to help, but the actual resolution from the store was unbelievable.

Because the Veranda boards are clearance items, the store could only locate nine replacement boards. Then they asked if I could personally bring the incorrect 16-foot boards back to the store myself. After all of that, they offered me $120 compensation for an incomplete and incorrect order that they still can’t fully replace.

This is for an active construction project, not a casual purchase. Wrong brand, wrong color, wrong quantities, incomplete order, and no real solution.
Really disappointed with how this was handled by Home Depot South Bay in Boston, Massachusetts.

Maybe I should’ve just bought them from the lumberyard.
