To advertisers: I’m never paying attention longer than 5 seconds, so you’re wasting our time and your money with ads that are any longer,
I’m either skipping you as soon as I get the chance or I’m muting you and doing something else until you’re done yapping. I know I sound b*tchy but I cannot imagine these advertisers getting the return on these ads. Do people sit and watch through YouTube ads like commercials on cable? I’ve never done it once.
EDIT: There are a lot of big brains in here explaining to me that not everyone buys products they see ads for. Thank you for showing your whole ass. The issue is the length of the ads and how they’re actually often unnecessary expenditures. If you and your friends enjoy sitting and enjoying full length YouTube ads, I guess you got me. Otherwise, congrats on missing the point.
EDIT: Guys, *again*: the post is about the length of the ads on YouTube, not whether they should exist. Some of you insist on reading my post as “YouTube should be completely free and have no ads”. Stop misreading and misrepresenting what I said.
