I'm struggling to keep up with the meta.

Hello, everyone. I'm not neccessarily a competitive player in tcg pocket let alone the real tcg game considering I never got a chance to buy any real packs for the real game. I've been playing since last Summer, and while at first the game was a bit complicated for me, once I learned the rules I at least understood drawing energy and the risk of using dual-type decks (for me it's always been a risk at least) and the first and second turns and what they're useful for, etc.

Back in the day, not long ago, I used to use Solgaleo in my day-to-day life. He was a hard hitter and I loved him, not to mention I got him on my first day of tcg pocket, so really he was the only good ex I had anyways. (I do NOT like relying on chance in videogames, because it's just a bad habit you should avoid developing as luck can't help you out if it's 3 blocks away /j)

I began to notice my decks flaws more and more as I played. Until the Suicune deck's started becoming meta I just stayed away from pvp entirely, but I tried my hand at it. I've always made horrible decks but the realization fully bloomed into sight when I almost lost to a Suicune user once and only won because I hadn't revealed I had Dragonite ex until a turn after, which gave me a lucky undeserved win. It wasn't until like 5 months ago that I realized rare candy was a thing, so you can't blame me for running basic/1 stage/2 stage Pokemon in my Solgaleo decks.

As I have said, I don't do pvp much, but when I do it is pretty fun. I usually only do it for like 3 emblems in the emblem battle events, and then stop until another one appears. Sometimes I do the ranked matches, and with this following deck you can't believe how many people were surprised at how a deck at first glance beat them. (I even beat I think a Mega Articuno ex user with this deck.)

This deck worked for a while and I had a lot of fun whooping a** with it, however I had known after the announce of Mega Rising that someday my normal non-mega ex inclusive decks were going to not be able to score me as many wins anymore. I faced a Mega Blaziken user and after that I treaded more carefully, however I still did pvp here and there. I forgot to mention, that because my card luck is so trash I can't even enjoy the collecting aspect of the game, so my experience has always leaned towards pvp even if it's not prominently my most active engagement factor. I then a month ago created this MONSTROSITY of a deck (and by that I meant it was still underwhelming but taught me about the power creep.)

I honestly have been ashamed of my incompetence and have been wanting to make better decks. Usually I rely on Cyrus but in pvp battles my opponents never give me a chance to run him these days. (I also used to use a Decidueye deck back in the day, if that tells you anything about how I like bullying benched Pokémon's.) Speaking of, I faced against a Decidueye user, and I kid you not, he could've retreated his active Pokémon for Decidueye who could've attacked on that turn and beat me by using the 100 dmg attack on one of my low HP benched Pokémon's, yet he didn't. I'm unsure if they intentionally gave me the win or just didn't catch on to that.

I also made this deck but haven't tried it yet except against the Zygarde ai battles from the said concluded event. But it's not very useful.
