pool deck renovation question

We just bought our place with a pool last year. I think the existing deck has to be repaired or replace sometime within the next year or two. Does it look like resurfacing would work? Or does this look so bad it would have to be replaced? And does anyone have any experience with resurfacing, good or bad, they can share?

I'm also new to owning a pool - is it best to go with a pool expert to do a deck renovation, or will any qualified contractor be able to handle this?
Thanks in advance!

Deck resurfacing or total redo?

Hi - We bought our house last year and we think the pool was put in sometime in the early 2000s or late 90s. The lining was replaced the year before we bought. No issues with the pool, but the patio around the pool is kind of a mess. I'm looking for some general advice....
First, does it seem possible to resurface the broken cement with something like RenewKrete? or will we have to replace?

Second, for others who have done this - what should we expect this cost? We're in a kind of high cost of living area... The pool is 20x40. I don't have the exact dimensions of the patio, but its about 5 -6 feet wide all around the pool.

Third, and probably most important, do we need to use a pool expert or can we hire any contractor with patio experience?
