Hello! I am interviewing for a position at the Alyeksa resort in Girdwood in their HR department. I would be relocating from the midwest so I have some questions about employee housing.

What has your experience been like in employee housing? How many people do you share rooms and bathrooms with? Is it clean? What does closet/storage space look like?

How easy is it to get to and from the resort? Is it walking distance, or would I definitely need to bring my car with me?

What do most people do for food/supplies? Is there a kitchen on site? Do you have to go into town to get groceries? Is there a shuttle between the resort and town of any kind?

Women - Do you feel like the area is safe? Do you feel comfortable walking around at night?

Black and Brown folks - Do you experience a lot of racism? I’m guessing the area isn’t very diverse, am I wrong in that assumption? For reference I am a dark skinned South Indian.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post! If there’s anything else one should know about the area or the culture of rural life, please comment below.
