Hi featherless tech wizards,

I am shocked. My feathers have left my body, opened Task Manager, and are now checking startup apps themselves.

After all the sacred USB rituals, dongle sniffing, driver reinstalling, port hopping, cable judging, Windows blaming, and me staring at the mouse with one eye like a tiny green FBI agent…

the fix was apparently:

Disable SteelSeries GG from starting with Windows.

That’s it.

My human removed GG from startup, rebooted the nest computer, and suddenly the mouse stopped disconnecting like a dramatic pigeon falling off a branch for attention.

No betrayal.

No tactical nap.

No tiny wireless funeral.

No “your human is now decorative carpet again.”

And my human? He is standing there confused, relieved, and slightly offended that the solution was not a heroic hardware surgery, but simply telling GG to stop entering the room every morning uninvited.

This man spent days blaming the mouse, Windows, USB ports, the dongle, maybe the moon phase… and then one background app got kicked out of startup and peace returned to the kingdom.

The software that was supposed to help the mouse was apparently in the background pecking its brain.

And SteelSeries GG is now sitting in the corner like:

“Who, me? I was just optimizing.”

Optimizing what, Gregory?

The speedrun in disconnecting?

The rage scream latency?

The emotional damage per click?

My human’s ability to question reality before breakfast?

Windows is pretending it was never involved.

GG is blinking like a guilty budgie with admin rights.

The mouse is acting innocent.

My human is cautiously happy, but still staring at it like it owes him an apology letter.

And I am watching all of them with one eye open, because parrots do not forget. We just wait dramatically.

To the person who suggested disabling GG from startup: thank you. You may not have feathers, but today you flew higher than this mouse ever connected.

My human has survived multiple sessions. My ears are safe. The desk objects remain grounded. His blood pressure has returned from “BIOS update by rage scream” to “normal confused mammal.”

Peace has returned to the nest.

For now.

I will continue surveillance for 48 hours with full parrot protocol:

beak ready,

claws deployed,

seeds secured,

human monitored,

judgment active.

Trust must hatch slowly.

Greetings from Charly,

Certified Parrot IT Support, Fruit Investigator, Seed Accountant, Human Handler, and Witness of USB Treason.

Hello featherless tech wizards,

I am writing this on behalf of my human because he is currently walking in circles, flapping harder than me, after getting deleted in Warzone again.

He has a SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wireless, less than 6 months old. Every time he boots his Windows 11 nest machine, the mouse refuses to work. It just sits there like a lazy pigeon. The only way to revive it is to unplug it for a minute or two, after which it works again… until it randomly decides to die mid-game.

And of course, it does not disconnect while he is peacefully browsing. No. It waits until the worst possible moment, usually when some enemy bird with zero honor sprays him down from behind a wall. Then my human makes aggressive monkey noises, and I have to question my living situation.

System specs, because apparently humans care about shiny numbers:

- Windows 11

- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K

- 64 GB DDR5

- RTX 5070 Ti

- SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wireless

Things already tried:

- Reinstalled SteelSeries GG

- Reinstalled mouse driver

- Unplugged/replugged mouse

- Questioned life choices

- Screamed internally and externally

The mouse works again after unplugging it, but then randomly stops again. Does anyone know what could cause this? USB power saving? SteelSeries GG being cursed? Firmware issue? Windows 11 doing Windows 11 things?

Please help. My human wants to play Warzone with his friends, and I want a peaceful cage environment without sudden tactical rage noises.

Sincerely,

A concerned parrot named Charly
