Wir sind ein kleines Unternehmen (2–3 Personen) und mieten Bürofläche in einem Bürokomplex. Im Büro stehen 2–3 Mac Minis sowie ein MacBook Air, Drucker alle per Ethernet /WLAN verbunden.

Das Gebäude betreibt ein zentral verwaltetes Netzwerk (UniFi Security Gateway). Die Gebäude-IT ist kooperativ – sie gibt uns auf Anfrage dedizierte Ports frei und teilt uns wohl eine feste IP zu.

Unsere Verbindung:

- 1000 Mbit/s Kabelinternet über Vodafone (Kabel Deutschland)

- Dynamische öffentliche IP

- Kein direkter Zugriff auf das Gebäude-Gateway

Was wir möchten:

- Sicherer Zugriff auf unser Büronetz von überall auf der Welt

- Remote Desktop / Fernsteuerung des Mac Mini im Büro

- Dateizugriff

- Vollständiger VPN-Tunnel, sodass wir remote "im Büro" sind

- VoIP-Telefonie über die Büroverbindung (Softphone via VPN)

- Funktioniert auf Mac und iPhone

- Wake-on-LAN wäre ein Bonus (Mac Mini ist manchmal ausgeschaltet)

Rahmenbedingungen:

- Portfreigaben nur auf Anfrage über die Gebäude-IT

- Maximal 2–3 gleichzeitige Remote-Nutzer (Zugriff aus Golfstaaten möglich)

- Stabilität und Zuverlässigkeit haben Vorrang - das ist ein produktives Geschäftssetup, kein Hobbyprojekt

Was würdet ihr empfehlen? Offen für alles – Hardware-Router, Mini-PC, was auch immer für ein schlankes aber professionelles Setup sinnvoll ist. Was nutzt ihr in einer ähnlichen Situation?

We're a small company in Germany (2-3 people) renting space in a shared office building. We have 2 Mac Minis and a MacBook Air in the office, all connected via Ethernet and WiFi.

The building runs a centrally managed network (UniFi Security Gateway). Building IT is cooperative – they’ll open specific ports and assign us a dedicated IP on request.

Our connection:

- 1000 Mbit/s cable internet via Vodafone (Kabel Deutschland)

- Dynamic public IP

- No direct control over the building gateway

What we want:

- Access our office network securely from anywhere in the world

- Remote desktop / screen control of the Mac Mini in the office

- File access

- Full VPN tunnel so we’re “inside” the office network when remote

- VoIP calls routed through the office connection (softphone via VPN)

- Works on both Mac and iPhone

- Wake-on-LAN would be a bonus (Mac Mini is sometimes off)

Constraints:

- We only get port forwards on request from building IT

- 2-3 simultaneous remote users max (for now)

- Stability and reliability are the priority – this is a business setup, not a hobby project

What would you recommend? Open to any solution – hardware router, mini PC, cloud-based, whatever makes most sense for a lean but professional setup. What are you running in a similar situation?
