Anxious and fearful
Hello,
I adopted this little baby (the black one) almost 2 years ago, he was 9 months old at the time, he was fearful from the beginning, and I knew he was gonna be a lot of work. I think he was a bit neglected by the previous owner, even though he was in great physical shape. fearful urination was his thing, and it took a lot of time and effort to get him to a place where he felt safe at home (he would pee even if I stared at him for too long, not exaggerating here). But, recently he is becoming super sensitive to noises and other people, and I don’t know what to do.
At the park, he used to be more confident he loves catching the frisbee, he would go off leach and leed us in the walks, we try to make sure he gets at least one hour of exercise in the morning a long walk in the afternoon. But now, if he sees someone walking even a mile way he would just freezes. At home I can’t turn on my laundry machine cause he would start shaking, and the urination is back. And worst of all he he getting reactive to other dogs, barking and showing his teeth.
Any suggestions,
The other Sheltie in the picture is his sister, she was rescued when she was 4 weeks old from a horrible breeder, and she turns out to be what I can only describe as the perfect dog… 7 years and my only problem with her is that she loves my partner more than me 😂.
