Anyone know or have any information on this? Or know where I could get information on this?
Just for background, I have a trip to Thailand coming up in very late October for a month for a sabbatical. I've never done Muay Thai but did Taekwondo as a kid. I also played sports growing up (basketball, football, softball/baseball) so new athletic pursuits weren't too difficult an adjustment. Am starting now to work on my cardio and just overall fitness in general (but an emphasis on cardio) and to ramp it up in the summer when it's hot. I know I can't simulate the humidity and working out in it, along with hitting pads (not a ton of academies or gyms in my area). I am not completely out of shape but for someone who normally does keep in shape, I feel I am out of shape.
Was wondering if anyone had any experience with iMUAYTHAI in Bangkok? My hopeful plan was to go there for a week, then jump to Tiger Eye Muay Thai, and either stay there or jump to MTA for the last week or two.
I think my experience at Tiger Eye and MTA will be more serious (which is what I want) but I was hoping to see if anyone had any thoughts or experiences on iMUAYTHAI (or Tiger Eye and MTA if you feel it would help) for classes, or should I just take private lessons at one of the other gyms straight away for a bit til I can feel that I can get out of a class environment what I put in.
I want to spend my time on my sabbatical challenging myself, but also being realistic with what one can do in a month with such a physical sport and discipline. I do also want to enjoy Thai food and culture while there, which is why I'm leaning much more towards Bangkok than Phuket. I am not against going to one city for a week or two, then moving.
