Question Regarding CFARS and Pistol Lowers
Hey folks, I'll be moving to CA soon and had a few questions I was hoping you all could help me understand.
From what I gather, to register an AR15 lower receiver as a pistol, it needs to be in a compliant configuration, which raises my first question: If I have multiple stripped receivers I am interested in registering as pistols, do I need a compmag for each or is one compmag enough as long they are never assembled into full firearms without the compmag in? This would only be for CFARS reporting as I'd intend to build them out later with maglocks and keep them stripped until I buy the maglocks.
My second question being: Can stripped lowers be registered as pistols? I have spare parts to assemble them if need be for CFARS but I'd rather not if possible.
And my final question being: I have a Tactical Innovations 10/22 style receiver with a 4.5 inch barrel configured as a pistol, is there any way to keep it as a pistol while remaining compliant? If not, i'm willing to ditch the barrel before I move and report the receiver alone as a rifle.
Thanks in advance!
