Hello folks,

So try and keep a long story short here, start out with im a 29 female in Alberta, Canada. I’ve had gallbladder issues/attacks for over 12 years but they never found stones and was always told it’s potentially something else. Within the past 12 years I’ve been sent for every single test/exam you could think of(wait times are horrendous here) and some doubled. Everything always came back “normal”, beyond frustrating. Finally did my own research and begged to go for a HIDA scan back in early 2024. The scan was terrible as it was during a very bad flare up and you can’t take any pain meds prior or during exam. I wasn’t able to finish the HIDA scan but my family doctor told me “everything came back normal”. I completely change my diet trying to figure it out on my own and ended up loosing a lot of weight(I’m already a pretty small person averaging at 130lbs). I lost over 50lbs in 4 months due to flare ups and genuinely just being scared to eat. I end up in the hospital for a couple days in October 2025 because I was so ill and the ER doctor informed me my HIDA scan back in early 2024 was incomplete .. so my family doctor essentially lied? Or just doesn’t care… so ER doctor send in referral for HIDA scan and finally got it in February 2026 and my ejection fraction rate was 91% … but my family doctor again had audacity to tell me it was normal and wanted to send me for another CT scan?…(this would be my third CT in 5 years) I told her to send me to a general surgeon and a GI. My surgeon and GI were absolutely blown away by the lack of care from my family doctor and jokingly said I should be in Guinness world records for such a high ejection rate. I finally got it removed here April 21. Recovery has been pretty good so far but my concern is food. Just wondering anyone else that also had such a high ejection rate what your long term effects were like with food? My gallbladder was basically dumping at 100% for YEARS so wondering if there’s really going to be such a difference now that it’s finally removed?
