Report to HR?
I (F 35) mail carrier was training a male to fill in the route for me. It's a very short route- we're out there maybe an hour and half tops.
Both days I was training him, he got out by a cluster of mailboxes saying he was "going to stretch his legs".
I took that literally-- until I heard the sound of urine hitting the ground for quite some time.
Granted, this is a rural route. But it is also a main road which gets very busy with families during the summer (beautiful area by a lake). There was no effort to maintain any form of privacy with the exception of going behind my mail car.
It was very upsetting he did this not only once but also the next day. We passed a vault toilet a half a mile back and where I turn around, we'd pass it again.
WHY! JUST WHY? There was no logic or reasoning in my mind why he'd do this especially considering we were so close to a toilet.
It was disturbing driving away seeing that huge puddle there.
EDIT: I did report to both my supervisor and co-worker the first time. My female co-worker had the same reaction as most on here. My male supervisor downplayed it and let me know where he takes a piss on a different street.
I'm not sure why I needed to know that information.
The next day, when I took my trainee out, I assumed my supervisor must have addressed the issue because he did in fact use the post office restroom before we got in the mail car. But to my shock, he peed in the exact same spot as the day before. I sincerely didn't think he'd have to go just 45 minutes to an hour later. Even when I did this route at 9 months pregnant, I didn't have to go that often.
My trainee has done maintenance on these roads for 30+ years. He is well aware where the vault toilet is. I'm more or less in shock and disbelief he'd be doing this. And I'm concerned it will be a habit because my mailbox is close to where he takes his potty break.
