I don't have sizzlers often since not everyone in my family likes them. Last I had probably in Pop Tates (R Mall?) don't recall the name. Enjoyed it. I think it was a mix of chicken sausages, a single fish fillet, and a few other meats I can't recall. Had one at Twistie's near Hyde Park years ago. Love most of Twistie's other stuff but that was pretty underwhelming, served without fries.

Any other eateries known for sizzlers? I don't wish to venture beyond a 7 km radius of Anand Nagar, Ghodbunder Road. Thank you for any recommendations.

I really don't wish to be politically correct about this but as someone who was obese as a child due to parent not encouraging healthy dietary habits it dismays me to no end that the prevalence of obesity among Bengali kids has not abated with time.

Have had a relative's kid (10) over for a few days and let's say this is someone I'll have to deal with often in life. The kid isn't outright disobedient or bullheaded per se. But barely moves an inch indoors all day. Less I say about screen time, the better.

When I've visited him in the past, barely ever seen him go out to play in the evening. When told to, he'll slyly only seek out kids unlikely to make him run. Doesn't even ride the bike he pleaded for and was gifted recently. Clothes have to be bought two sizes too large to ensure longevity.

It took me until after school when I first shed flab and until age 23-24 when I was a healthy weight commensurate with my height.

Can't even run 100 metres at a stretch without stopping. Being a child of divorce all this pampering from granny and mommy is making him even more or a slob. He doesn't even sit erect if he can get away with it. 10+ years old can't shower by himself or do ablutions. And there's no discernible initiative from mommy to get bhodaram to learn.

Physical exertion is near negligible yet Mommy here is feeding a handful of dry fruits daily without fail for brain development. As if the fish, liver, eggs, pulses, fruits and veggies don't suffice by themselves. Sweets to top whenever any are brought home.

*Tomader ki aamaar chheler sukh chokhe sojjho hoy na?* - is how I surmise mommy dearest will aggressively defend herself should anyone deign to take issue with the kid's sedentary lifestyle.

My issue isn't with dry fruits. Feed the kid almonds, cashews whatever you damn well please. While ensuring the kid is burning enough calories by way of recreation. Kids like these are picked on brutally at school. This one just doesn't own up to it.

Since I have spent 10 yrs in Bengal going back regularly and 20 yrs outside I know full well how many obese kids I notice in families of Bengali origin and otherwise in my social circles. Please be responsible parents. All study and no play makes aadurey beta a dull boy.

I have been in my current building for about 12 years and feel the kinds of tenants and flat owners are considerably worse than in years gone by.

I've overheard multiple recent instances of loud bickering at wee hours, possible domestic violence, drunks creating ruckus, screaming unreasonably at building staff like they're personal butlers.

I'm asocial so barely know anyone aside from 3-4 families and that too is a stretch (in a building with 500, maybe 600 residents). Decent share of investment flats too, I think.

My folks are not confrontational by nature so I've failed to get my Dad to report any kind of disorderly conduct of which there's been plenty recently. Although he does take committee members to task on other matters like water supply, how pending maintenance charges are computed and when will defaulters be penalised etc.

What can be done to ensure residents are held accountable for maintaining public peace? Sometimes I'm scared to step outdoors when stuff like what I describe above is going on in nearby flats.

Probably coming across as a sanctimonious jerk but I definitely don't wish to associate on any level with those incapable of conduct in line with the kind of area they're renting/buying in.
