Hey everyone,
I am a trans woman from Germany and have dual UK-German citizenship, although I was born in Germany and have never lived in the UK but visit often because I have family there.
I have completed my legal transition in Germany and have updated all my documents including my birth certificate which now shows the correct sex. I have also recently been approved for a new UK passport with my new name and correct sex marker, and as I have never lived in the UK, I assume the only official record of my existence in the UK should be with HMPO/Border Force. My parents also never officially registered my birth as a foreign birth of a UK citizen with the British Consulate but simply applied for a passport at HMPO.
And since I know that changing the gender marker in a British Passport does not equal a GRC (even though I sent my new birth certificate as evidence), my question is whether there is somehow still any record of my old name and gender in any UK databases and basically if I am considered a woman under UK law without a UK GRC?
Thanks for your help!
