Gibson L6s deluxe mystery switches
Got this Gibson L6s Deluxe at a yard sale it has some mystery controls. To my knowledge, this model should not have a wiring harness like this and I’m wondering what those two switches near the output jack do. As of now, they seem to be doing nothing. Not even a pop or crackle when they’re switched. The bridge volume pot is also rusted in place and there’s some general looseness of the controls so I’m thinking there’s definitely something gone awry inside. My first guess is that they are phase switches for each pickup because I think there’s another model of the L6s that has a rotary switch with various phase positions. I’m hoping they’re coil taps but am hoping there’s someone out there who can look at the harness picture and know what’s going on. Wild guesses are also welcome. I’m excited to bring this thing back to life.
