My dad passed away last month from cancer and I have inherited his 2010 FLHXSE CVO street glide. Its my first Harley. Been riding dirt bikes and dual sports for a few years but this is a whole new bike to handle. I am going to take the MSF course at my local dealer to pick up some new skills next month.
When my dad bought his bike, I bought him a bell, knowing that a gifted bell from a loved one is meant to help protect the rider. I know when a bike is sold the owner takes the bell off.
Now that he has passed and the bike is mine I'm not sure if the bell should stay on or be taken off and kept safe. My sister gifted me a bell with my dads birth/death date engraved on it and I can also fill it with his ashes and seal it.
I had a vial of his ashes made to put on a keychain so dad and I can always ride together. I want to have both bells on but I also want to honor tradition. Not sure what to do so I'm reaching out to the community to gather thoughts. Thank you!!
