Coaching vs. Guides - What actually helps you improve the most?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been spending a lot of time lately looking into different ways to help newer players improve, especially regarding class mechanics and endgame content. I recently started doing some 1-on-1 coaching sessions via Metafy to see if I could provide better value than static guides, and it's been an eye-opening experience.
I'm curious about the community's perspective on learning:
- For those who feel stuck: Do you find written guides (like Wowhead/IcyVeins) enough, or do you feel like you need a live person to point out mistakes in real-time?
- For experienced players: Have any of you transitioned from just playing to coaching/creating educational content? I'm trying to figure out if this is a viable path to dedicate more time to, or if the demand isn't really there.
I'm really interested in how people prefer to digest "pro" information nowadays. Is the human element of a session worth the time, or are high-quality video guides the gold standard?
I'm still refining my own coaching structure and guides, so if anyone has specific questions about how a session looks or wants to chat about getting some help, my DMs are always open!
Thanks for any insights!
