Has anyone experienced this with an “expired” or “unexpired“ Nexplanon around 4.5 years?

Hi all ! Sorry about my rant. And yes, before you read on, I did talk to my doctor. This is more of a venting situation and just wanna know if anyone is going through anything similar :

I got my implant on January 2022 when my daughter was born. Never had issues up until last year where I potentially had a chemical and I said potentially because I took three tests. They all came back positive within the timeframe for the limit however, when I went to the doctor, it came back negative, so they said it’s either a chemical or a faulty test. mind you the tests were different brand so I highly doubt that, but that’s another story that being said the Nexplanon was not removed given that they still believed it was working honestly, at that moment I convinced myself it was a chemical and was emotionally in shock and couldn’t deal with her moving in at that moment. Fast forward I have been baby dancing without an issue no pregnancy scares however…

I’m currently on cycle day 41. My cycles are usually around 27 days (once a 30 day cycle) and normally pretty heavy, so this cycle has been really abnormal for me.
I’ve been spotting on and off since around cycle day 33. It’s mostly only when I wipe — pink, brown, sometimes a little bright red — but it never turns into a real flow. I even tried using a tampon thinking my period started, but it barely had anything on it and never filled at all. Sometimes the spotting completely disappears for hours or even most of the day.
The only time I’ve ever had something similar was during a chemical pregnancy last year BUT with that one:
I tested positive first the spotting gradually got heavier
and it eventually turned into a full bleed/period
This time I’ve had multiple negative tests.

I did baby dance around cycle day 25 and yes ChatGPT and flo app (dont come for me ) says I may have ovulated late, but I’m also on Nexplanon. So idk
I have not used backup protection as honestly if it happens we always consider it a blessing in my family
.
My doctor doesn’t think it’s PCOS since my cycles are normally regular, and she also doesn’t think this sounds like a chemical this time. She thinks it may be hormones/stress or my Nexplanon losing some effectiveness since it’s getting close to 5 years. She suggested either using a backup method or replacing it, but honestly insurance won’t cover replacement yet because technically it’s still approved through 5 years, and I have called two different clinics aside for my doctor one of them being planned parenthood,

I guess I’m just wondering:
has anyone had super light on/off spotting this long on late Nexplanon?did it end up being your period?
did anyone start ovulating again before replacement?
or has anyone had a cycle randomly become super delayed like this?
If anyone has used a spoon past the four years, is this a common symptom ?
