Hello, I just want to ask for advice on what to do. For context, my mother owed money to a lender with a 10% interest rate. My mother passed away in 2022, but the lender is still pestering us for payment. We tried talking to her, but she insisted we pay. At first, I agreed to pay ₱1,000 per month, but after consulting a lawyer, I was told we are not legally obligated to pay because the debt was our mother's and we were unaware of it. Despite this, the lender continues to harass us and is threatening to sue, claiming her in-law is a lawyer.
