I initially tore and had reconstruction surgery (quad graft) almost exactly 10 years ago. On Friday I fell while bouldering, failed to roll out properly and landed badly on my reconstructed knee, it buckled and went in a weird direction, I felt the "pop". Much more pain initially than I remember from the last time. Was immediately very anxious that I re-tore. Over the weekend I had a ton of swelling, limited range of motion etc but was trying to stay hopeful it's just a strain. But as the inflammation has subsided I'm feeling that instability and am freaking out to put it mildly. Appt to see my old ortho dr is not for over 2 weeks though I'm on the waitlist for a sooner one.
So I won't know for sure for a while but if it does turn out to be a re-tear, I would just like to hear any experiences or advice from people who have had a re-tear and surgery for that and what it was like compared to the first time. I'm scared and very upset.
