Avant didn't release mortgage funds on time, supposed to close today

I'm the seller and the buyer's mortgage is with Avant. My solicitor has just informed me we won't be closing today. I took 3 days off work so the house would be ready for new owner. Could've done it this weekend instead.

Is this common for banks to not release funds on time?

Why the delay?

Guests are not informed that 4 star reviews are viewed as concerning.

Just had guests who said everything was amazing but gave 4 for cleanliness, 4 for location, despite a glowing private message saying how thoughful I was and they had a great time.

We all get guests who do this. We know airbnb never removes these views.

I told the guests 4 is a fail and please don't do this to a host in future.

I escalated my complaint.

it's time more hosts told airbnb their rating system is unethical and leave.

I've been cleaning the house properly, have cleaners here deep cleaning oven etc, friends and neighbours think I'm mad.

I would hate to get the keys to my new house and have to clean up after previous owners. I'm also scrubbing the deck and tidying the garden.

Just feels like the right thing to do but everyone I know says don't bother.

Why is this attitude so widespread?
