Something different please

I feel like I've read pretty much every book in the genre or sampled and put it down, I would love to read something that has yearning and tension like what Tahera Mafi / Cassandra Clare can write that doesn't feel cheesy or corny. i also love Rachel gielleg. I feel like I'm looking for the kind of romance that I only see in high fantasy as a sub plot, but I want to take centers stage or the kind of thing I see in young adult fantasy that I no longer can relate to as an adult.

I feel like I'm really tired of the gritty, dark, trials thing. It's all so formulaic and predictable. I don't hate a trope but it seems so rinse repeat sometimes. I would love to read about a princess or something. Not a badass warrior girl. Like Evangeline. I'm also really tired of really mean MMC's. I love when they're a little bit charming or funny not just stoic and grim. Like will hero dale!

I do feel like I've blown through this whole genre in the last few years so if anyone has any hidden gems please lmk!!

If anyone else does feel this way my reccs are:

- woven kingdom series

- swordcatcher

- the knight and the moth

- a forbidden alchemy

- reign and ruin
