Hi everyone, I’m starting my preparation for UPSC CSE Prelims 2027 and I’m confused about the right approach for basics.

Should I first directly read NCERTs by myself and then move to lectures, or should I watch YouTube lectures (like UPSC Wallah) first and read NCERTs immediately after the lecture?

Also, regarding notes:
Should I make detailed notes from the lectures themselves, or just highlight/make short notes from NCERTs?

I sometimes feel lectures help me understand better, but note-making from lectures takes a lot of time. I don’t want to waste time in the beginning phase.

Would really appreciate guidance from seniors or people who already cleared prelims/mains. Thanks!
