What the camera array hints.....

What the camera array hints.....

So after all the leaks and stuff finally sneak peak by sony, the camera array looks interesting and says a lot,

Looking at the image the first camera is definitely an ultra wide angle, and the one on the right is primary camera and the bottom one being the telephoto,

Looking at the telephoto cameras design it's definitely an upgraded big sensor, look at the lens it's huge.

And I'm not updated with the leaked specs so i might be wrong but, the telephoto looks more like an fixed focal length not the typical variable ones that sony always used

I might also be wrong because on the leaked renders the bump is crazy that also hints it might be variable telephoto lens,

It's both a win win situation, even if it's fixed focal length telephoto lens it's still great because the previous phones with variable telephoto lens has the hazey, whitish, washed out, images and that was fixed by image processing, during low light it was very worse due to auto mode cranking the iso all the way up and the small sensor capturing very less details.

But still if anyone knows to use you could force iso to low and use low shutter speeds, I always used that and force manual HDR on manual mode.

The fixed focal length telephoto might not have that issue anymore, but if it's variable like typical sony, It's obvious the sensor is big, and I hope they don't keep the aperture way too high like f/4.0 or sum.

Yeah the camera definitely got upgrades.

Sony 1 series till the mark 7 has the best design in my option, and also the xperia 1 III and 1 VI was the peak of sony if they didn't had the heating issues those 2 phone are GOATED the design the slim form factor,

Now talking related to the title,

Sony and Samsung having telephoto lens for decades both samsung and sony are stuck on the same trash 1/3.5 small sensor and Samsung's 10x telephoto with 1/3.94 inch sensor and even iphone until 17 pro had similar sized sensors, but still samsung and iphone win even tho they got smaller sensors due to their absolute best in class image processing unlike sony.

Meanwhile chinese flagships like Xiaomi, Vivo, oppo are absolutely pushing their limits in sensor size, megapixels, image processing.

So what exactly is the issue?

The vertical camera design is the culprit,

Might have already seen the Chinese flagships these days with absolute beast camera setup doing so well is because of their design, the circular camera bump.

If you have noticed all those best camera chinese phones has circular camera bump where you can fit the hug telephoto camera horizontal within the circular camera bump. This the one advantage they have,

In my opinion the circular camera bump is ugly af, others may like it but yeah that design is not that great to me, but for the functionality it's great.

And giants like Samsung and iphone can't switch to circular camera bump just because the Chinese phones are doing it great and also the functionality,

Because samsung and iphone consumers also majority cares bout clean and minimalistically aesthetic design, I don't think any of the Samsung or iPhone users want that circular camera bump Chinese phones designs.

So yeah they care bout design and that's exactly why they're stuck on the small sensor cameras even tho the market trend has changed to big sensor cameras, so they could preserve their design.

Meanwhile this year iphone 17 pro design is the brilliant design ever apple made, the full horizontal camera plateau is brilliant move by apple making the design not ugly while also preserving the aesthetic and functionality by fitting in larger sensors, and I guess apple will use this design for 4 more years since this design is best in terms of both aesthetic design and functionality.

But this year's samsung s26 ultra, still with the same small sensor, because they didn't change the design of the camera array and with the vertical camera array you can't fit the bigger telephoto sensor because the telephoto sensor is horizontal and can't fit in the vertical design.

In my opinion, this year's sony upcoming phone design is absolute trash it's like sony losing its essense, it's like sony losing what makes sony,

But anyways this move tells us sony is really trying and sony knows the smaller sensor issue so they had to switch the design to eye pleasing ones to functional design.

I realised the sony, samsung, iphone small sensor issue in 2023 itself after those chinese phones and i was absolutely right, all three continued for a long time with small sensors, and ever since i always made sketches to over come the issue to fit bigger sensor while preserving the design, guess i made better design sketches than sony's upcoming phone, and if you look out fake leaks of sony, those ai generated fake leaked designes are far better than the original sony's, it's like sony isn't sony anymore,

Atleast they're trying and hope this year's telephoto sensor is better and upto mark to those of Chinese phones with better image processing, At the end sony is trying, so yeah I'm all up for it, lesgo! Sony!
