Hey r/Startups_EU 👋

Quick disclaimer first : English isn't my first language so I used AI to translate — the ideas and the story are 100% mine though.

I run a small company with my co-founder that's slowly but steadily growing. But I also love building stuff on the side just for fun, so I looked for a side project idea to keep me busy.

I built the MVP in one day with Cursor. Nothing crazy, but it works.

The idea : TenderAlert EU

It alerts SMEs by email when a public procurement tender in Europe matches their profile. You sign up, go through a quick onboarding (sectors, countries, budget range, contract types), and every morning you get an email with today's matching tenders — pulled directly from the official EU database (TED, 2000+ new notices per day).

Why I built it :

A lot of companies in France (and across Europe) still do this manually. It takes hours every week. The existing tools aren't great UX-wise, cost around €1,000/year, and often still rely on real humans doing the research. The competitors I found are either too niche (one country only) or not credible enough.

I just wanted to make it simpler.

Where it stands :

It's a fun project so for now it's completely free. Depending on feedback and how many people find it useful, I might add a paid plan down the line. But right now I just want real users and honest feedback.

If any of you respond to public tenders or know SMEs that do — give it a try and tell me what you think 🙏
