The only thing that has stopped me from getting blown up the past few weeks is what the title says. When I don’t I usually get smacked..

works for winners and losers** basically you need atleast 4-6 contracts. I’ll use 4 to keep it easy. I’m also excluding commissions here as well so keep that in mind

You have 4 contracts.
You need +33% gain to sell 3, and keep 1 for free
You need +100% gain to sell 2 and keep 2 for free

You can see how it would be applied to the loss side as well

You loose 33% sell 1 then still have 3 but now you are trying to keep all you can.

The main goal I usually go for is lowering the initial cost by selling proactively

Caught me by suprise. I was waiting on my setup, using 5min EMA levels on the 1 min chart. As soon as I went to close out the trade, boom god candle came in and stopped me in my tracks. I ended up making 100%, i probably got more lucky than not, but at the very least i stayed disciplined lol
