We just purchased a home and need to replace the hot water heater. I live in Mesa Arizona. Looking for feedback on the following.

1. Should we purchase a water heater from a big box store. Heard mixed reviews. Some people have told me Home Depot has great warranty coverage. They will give you money back if something goes wrong. Is this true?
2. Getting a Bradford white

1. from a supply store is higher quality than the ones from big box stores. Is this true?
2. If we install the

Bottom line. Should we purchase a water heater and install it ourselves or is it worth the extra 1k to purchase it through a plumber and have them install it.

I’m very overwhelmed by all the decisions.
