Picky Cat with FLUTD
Are there any non-urinary health foods that are acceptable or recommended for cats with FLUTD?
I have a very picky cat, that unfortunately has had FLUTD issues since she was a kitten. I’ve struggled to get her to eat enough for years, and at 6 years old she’s only 6 pounds. She’s on transdermal fluoxetine, and hasn’t had any other health issues aside from some dental issues in the past.
I’ve probably tried all of the prescription and non-prescription options, and she dislikes all of them. Purina one and Royal Canine are sometimes acceptable, but not always. I really just need to find something that she’ll eat at this point.
She has no issue with treats, and would survive on treats alone if she could. She gets a high calorie gel in the evenings that she lives for. She likes Fancy Feast wet food. We recently tried Orijen wet food, and it’s the most enthusiastic shes ever been. I’ve read some bad things about Orijen and urinary issues, so I’m nervous to keep giving it to her. Are there any other options?
