I don't know if it's just something with my nose, or because I don't really cook ground beef that often (I prefer sirloins and chicken breasts), but why does ground beef always have a strange smell when you're cooking it? I have a package that was delivered to the store I work at today, and I have a package that is three days past its best-by date. Both smell fine when I unwrap them, yet they have a strong, weird odor when I cook them. Is this normal?
