The new rims i got for my w211. I figured someone would enjoy a pic from the car they came off of

Hey all,
I just got some wheels that came originally on the r231 and cls 218
They have some interesting tires on them. 215/40 r17
I’m a bit worried that the tires are too skinny and they’d look stupid on my car. Also about potholes damaging the wheels.
Should i just preemptively put some beefier tires on ?
Does anyone have a similar setup ? Do you mind to share how your fitment looks ?
Here are the wheels and the car they came off.
I can’t fit them yet to see as my car is currently in the shop.

Wheel specs : 8x17 ET30
Tire specs : 215/40
Car : 2003 270 avantgarde on factory suspension
