Worried my doctor won’t take me seriously
Hi everyone! I had an overnight study and an MSLT a few weeks and got my results back today, and have a follow up appointment with my doctor in another few weeks. My results came back as non-conclusive for a sleep disorder, so I’m just waiting for how my doctor will interpret the results. However, one of the sleep technicians for the overnight study wrote “Patient is curious about possible narcolepsy,” in patient notes which arose from a conversation we had where the sleep technician asked if I have narcolepsy, and I said I’m unsure. Afterwards, we continued to talk about it and how interesting the diagnosis is. I’m worried that because my results were negative, and from the comment in my patient notes, that my doctor will believe I’m only seeking out a narcolepsy diagnosis and she won’t take my symptoms seriously. Not sure if anyone else has experience with this, but I thought I’d ask!
