[21F | AEST] beginner getting into gaming for the first time in a while — looking for someone chill to play with and actually get to know
This is a bit out of my comfort zone to post but here goes:
I want to make more friends and someone close to me suggested maybe try online friends with similar interests, so I found myself two hours later posting in this subreddit.
To be honest, whilst I am interested in games, I wouldn't really call myself a gamer as of now - I watch a lot of vtubers on YouTube, more than the time I spend actually playing them. I will say though, I did grow up on Minecraft, Terraria, and Roblox with my cousins and just have fond memories of those times. As we got older, most have moved on with their lives and gone to hang out in their own social circles, but I think my interest/exposure in gaming started there.
More recently, I've been playing Roblox casually (Doors, horror games, dress-up games), mostly by myself and sometimes (albeit rarely) with high school friends. I have Lethal Company downloaded and really want to try it - the whole "frendslop" thing appeals to me a lot, just having fun with chaotic games and having a laugh together. I don't have a budget for new games right now, so mostly working with what I have aforementioned, but I am open to trying things too!
Honestly, I'm looking for someone to chat with just as much as someone to game with — maybe more so. I love getting to know people, talking about what we're into and just life in general. I've been told I am a good listener. Outside of games, I'm like watching musical theatre productions (Anastasia was the most recent one), singing, charcoal art as a hobby, webtoons (really into this because it's a form that I get to appreciate visual and written words, I love the different genres romance, comedy, all the way to horror and psychological), novels, watching YouTube, and cooking.
I'm still in uni, so weekdays are packed, but always around to chat and free for most weekends for games. I am shy, so I stick to texting until I feel comfortable speaking with you (unless the game requires of course). I do open up a lot once I've known someone for a while.
