Come check out the Crozet Spring Arts & Crafts Festival in Claudius Crozet Park, May 9 & 10. This is a ticketed event, open 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.

Hey Charlottesville, I'm a Virginia artist showing at the Crozet Arts Festival this weekend. My work is all hand-drawn in graphite, no tracing or stencils, featuring antique bottles. Come check out my work if you visit the show! @briehaydenart on Instagram

Hi all, I was wondering if someone can help me date this Sauer's Brand bottle from Richmond, Virginia. Some of the clues seem contradictory to me.

The glass does not appear to have any purple hue, it is not embossed on the sides (though it does have one tiny S near the base), and there are no screw top threads at the opening. The mould seam does go all the way to the top lip of the bottle. I read that the Sauer's brand started using Owen-Illinois glass in 1930s, but that the Owens brand stopped using the O in a square logo (which is on this bottle) around 1929. The numbers next to the O are very worn, but appears to be 60, which might indicate it's from that decade, but if so, I'd expect the Owen glass logo to be newer the O & I combination.
