I took my cat to the vet because she had a leaky butt and is severely underweight. They just told me it was because she needed wet food and I spent 200 dollars on medication for her since they told me she had irritable bowel syndrome. She has had it for about 3 years, I know it shouldn't have gone untreated but she was living with my mom for most of her life and I couldn't live at my mom's for 2 years and I finally took her back. The thing is, I gave her the medication and bought special wet food that the vet recommended to me and it helped a bit, but it didnt completely fix the original problem and now she isn't eating at all, she keeps tripping over and she cant stand for a long time. I have tried to get her to eat everything and she wont even eat her favorite treats anymore. She was perfectly fine not even a week ago and I'm worried that I did something wrong. I want to take her to the vet again, but im not sure how I'll be able to afford it. Shes about 7 or 8 years old now and I dont want her to die so early in her life. My dad is telling me to put her down but I really dont want to give up on her, what can I do?
