Lost important study documents from iCloud Drive while organizing final drafts
I’m a college student and recently finished a big study project with tons of academic documents saved in iCloud Drive, so I could access them from my MacBook, iPad, and school computers. The problem is that I had way too many versions of the same files.
While trying to organize, I accidentally deleted 2 important documents that actually needed to be kept. And worse, I deleted all the items in the “Recently Deleted” folder. I used the Data Recovery from the quick access in iCloud Drive, but nothing showed up for recovery. You can check the picture as follows. Why my deleted files did not show up here in the data recovery option?
Also I found a step-by-step guide of Cisdem Data Recovery about recovering deleted files from iCloud using its iCloud recovery mode. The recovery process required iCloud Drive sign in, I am concerned about the safety, so now I’m wondering if anyone here has tried it before. Does it actually help when the files are already gone from Recently Deleted?
Or are there better ways to recover iCloud Drive documents in this situation? Really stressed because these are research notes and final edits.
