This past week, I gave Windows 11 the boot and installed CachyOS

My laptop is an Asus TUF Dash F15 - hybrid Intel/nVidia GPU.

So far, a great experience! It boots up MUCH!! faster than Windows 11, and KDE Plasma is very smooth.

I haven't tried any games via Steam or Lutris yet, but that's next on the list now that I've got all my usual application software installed and system tweaks enabled. There was a bit of a learning curve with pacman, yay/paru, and the Arch Linux way of doing things; the past 20+ years have seen me with Red Hat/ Fedora and Ubuntu.

There will be irritations and annoyances, to be sure, but I don't have to worry about updates bricking the laptop.
