I love doing brewery tourism and it is easiest when you can find a handful of breweries in a walkable area. Here are a couple I have found where you can get a hotel and then walk to numerous breweries. I have set 5+ as my limit and about 1/4th mile from a centralized hotel). Love to hear if there are others I need to get on my list.

##Portland, ME - 8 clumped in East End (Best Bower Hotel closest to center - others on/near the water) ##

  • Burial Forestry Camp, Hillman, and French Broad are walkable from Biltmore Village, as is Hi-Wire north of Swananoa River

  • Oyster House, Whale Ale Craft, Archetype, and One World are west of the French Broad.

  • A bit more walking, but RAD has RAD Brewing, Hi-Wire, Wedge and New Belgian across the river

  • Zillocoah is north but walkable to Ginger's Revenge (ginger beer)

  • Sierra Nevada is south and worth visiting. There is Appalachian Mountain between Sierra Nevada and Mills River, which has Burning Bush, Bold Rock Cidery, and Mills River Brewing Company

  • Hendersonville has Blue Ridge, Boodas, Dry Falls, Guidon, Oklawaha, Southern Appalachian, and Trailside

  • White oaks, has Brevard Brewing, Ecusta, Griffon & Sphinx, Nobelbrau, and Oskar Blues

##Richmond, VA - (A courtyard here, but better to Uber over and walk)
