I wish I could remember more details, but this is all I have:

1. I know it has to be a kid's book because I checked it out from my school library in middle school (this would have been about 2010-2012)

2. I believe the story followed a teenage boy living in a large family home, and some odd supernatural elements occurred

3. There was a focus on television, and I seem to remember the climax involving the boy realizing that something was in the TV. He may have gone around turning off the TV sets in the house, and the last one was in the attic

I was remembering this because my wife starting reading a book called Mister Magic, and now I can't stop wracking my brain over it.
