I have been a RN 15 years and NP for 9. I am FT salary and find myself working 50 hours most weeks. I am tired and burnt to a crisp. I am missing out on my young daughter’s life and the guilt is unreal.
I want out of healthcare completely but not sure if that’s doable. The only positive to my position is it’s flexible enough I get to drop my daughter off at school most days. But then I’m working late every night.
Any NP worked as a school nurse? Or left for something entirely different in finance/business?
Should I take a leave of absence to try and get myself together? I don’t know the rules regarding LOA and right now I do not have my own PCP bc she recently left her practice.
Just looking for some advice🥺
