When he went on TV and said George Bush doesn't care about black people he spoke for black people everywhere devastated by Katrina and ignored by their government. Black people were ecstatic when they saw him say that.

The turn happened with the "Slavery is a choice" comment, the maga hat, turning his back on his people for the white elite fashion money. Trust chipped away. All Sway was trying to tell him (he jad the answers) was that his people will lift him up in his endeavors if he let them.

Then came the antisemitism, typical among hoteps, but praising Hitler is a whole different ball game. Hanging out with the manosphere and making a whole album full of blatant nazi ideology. Trust completely eroded, betrayal on top of confusion.

Black people know what white supremacy is. They dont play around with it. It doesn't see them as human. And kanye subscribing to that and the cognitive dissonance associated is just exhausting.

Black people arent a monolith, some still defend him, blame mental health, think hes being manipulated, etc. But generally speaking the respect, trust, and cultural pride that his community had in him is deeply, deeply damaged. Most of them are just done
