White Diamond can alter a Gem’s mind, making them manic and causing their sense of self to break.

Yellow Diamond can alter a Gem’s physical form, transforming them from a Gem into a monster.

Blue Diamond can affect emotions, which ties into why corrupted Gems are often constantly attacking—they’re stuck in a permanent state of anger, similar to how Blue was after Pink was shattered.

Then there’s the missing component: Pink. Her power was originally destruction (even though we later see it as healing). For example, the damage to Volleyball’s eye couldn’t be healed.

That’s why the Gems were corrupted instead of completely destroyed—because Pink’s destructive power was part of the process.
