No, the chain is not too long. The system capacity is exceeding what the rear derailleur is intended to accommodate. Small to small gearing is “too long” while the big to big combination is perfect. This is just a PSA to keyboard mechanics who only look at a fraction of the information who then provide advice. For anyone wondering the math, cassette is 11-36T and the Crankset is 48/36/22T which is 36-11+48-22 = 51. The rear derailleur is designed to accommodate a 45T total capacity. Mainly just a post to call out people who give advice without thinking.
