About the recent story (aggressive text wall incoming)

Recently cookie run kingdom released the Arcana of truth and decit story and it has been receiving a lot of hate I feel is unwarranted and I want to address it.

This hatred actually started before this story was even released when devsis released an unfinished version of the opening cinematic for this update. I'm specifically talking about a YouTube post by a cookie run content creator who will remain anonymous as I don't dislike them or their content and just have a problem with this specific take. Basically they where unhappy with use of millennial tree cookie's primal mercy costume from ovenbreak in the cinematic as they felt it was a misrepresentation of cookie run ovenbreaks lore.

I have several problems with this take

  1. Crk and crob's stories take place in different universes so this "corrupted" legendary cookies are inspired by the ovenbreak costumes and Don't need to have the exact same lore (complaing about the representation of ovenbreak characters in kingdom is like marvel funs complaing because the ultimate universe Spiderman isn't the exact same as the 616 Spiderman)

  2. This is the main reason I disagree with this take: we don't know what this story is about. When the content creator made their post they where complaing about an unfinished cutsceen depicting early visuals for a storyline that won't happen for months or even years. Please wait until this story is actually released before complaing about it. We don't know what role the legends will play in this story so complaing about it now is futile.

Now I want to talk about the main reason I made this post the hate for new story.

Since the "Arcana of truth and decit" story released last week I've seen a lot of people complain about it on social media and I want to address their "grievances" with the new story I put grievances in quotes because the only thing this people say is that kingdom's story is bad and the writers don't care about ovenbreak lore without providing any evidence to support their accusations. To make things simpler I'll refer to this kingdom hating crowd as "Ovenbreak elitists" because that's what they are. I'd love to address their points and debate them but as I said they don't have any. So I'll address the only points in the story that could warrant such a response.

  1. That one cutsceen where timekeeper explains the shadow milks plan to the ancient heroes: I've seen a bit of confusion regarding the way some aspects of the crk timeline where explained most specifically the crk timeline being referred to as a core timeline and that is sustained by the power of the soul jams.

1.1 most of this confusion is not kingdom's fault but instead caused by that cutsceen that played during the "operation now hiring" story in ovenbreak that explained the core timeline and the operations of the TBD. That cutsceen was honestly poorly written and kinda wrote kingdom's story into a corner by establishing the existence of a "core timeline" my interpretation of this mess is that kingdom and ovenbreak are different universes with their own core timeline and kingdom's core timeline specifically is powered by the soul jams not ovenbreak's.

  1. The other common misconception about this story is the power scaling between timekeeper and smilk. Most of the people saying they "nerfed" timekeeper in this story just don't understand how powerful Smilk is currently. What I'm about to say is my understanding of the lore so I might get some things wrong. Basically in the end of episode 15 Smilk absorbed a part of the ultimate cookie wich was made by dark enchantress specifically to defeat the whiches. Smilk only took a small chunk from the ultimate cookie combined with the 4 soul jams he has makes him very powerful probably just as powerful as timekeeper and again the ultimate cookie was made to kill whiches who created the cookies no matter how powerful timekeeper is she can't defeat her creators and Smilk while not that powerful has a piece of a being that could defeat said creators giving him a pretty big advantage against Timekeeper.

Finally I want to conclude this post by answering the one question that has perplexed me for the past few months : Why? Why is hating kingdom the cool thing to do now? Why do all these ovenbreak elitists act so unfavourably towards kingdom's story while placing ovenbreak's on a pedestal and acting like it can do no wrong? Well after reading more kingdom hate posts than I can count I have come to the conclusion that these ovenbreak elitists are less of a community and more of a circlejerk of kingdom haters that try to validate their baseless hatred by making accusations on an echo chamber of yes men that won't call them out for the lack of evidence. If the story was truly bad then these people would have provided actual evidence and not just proclaim kingdom's story to be bad without having anything to back that up. That is why I made this post to see if this ovenbreak elitists have any evidence to debate me with. So go one kingdom haters give me specific parts of the story that are bad or disrespect ovenbreak's lore I'd love to debate you on this subject
