Hi, I am looking for some guidance about how to become a radiology tech and have gotten a little lost in my research as I've found conflicting info.
Years ago I obtained my BA and then went to grad school for clinical psychology. I had a 4.0 and was thrilled to start a career as a psychotherapist, however, towards the very end of my graduate program I was forced to leave and become a full time caretaker for a loved one. This put my entire life on hold and basically destroyed my savings and career trajectory - I have no work history since I was 26, no prospects, no connections, no references, no income. I am now 40 and trying to restart. I have a BA and student debt.
I have always enjoyed working with people and wanted to work in some field of healthcare. The more I read about radiology the more interested I become in being tech. Here's my issue- I don't have much money to spend on further education. I, of course, want to be as educated as possible in the field but I don't know what the most affordable way to launch this career would be. I know some community colleges have programs but one program said that their program is reserved for "new" students and not folks returning to college who have already obtained degrees. I'm lost and I'd love any guidance or insight.
